Standard of Living and Economic Consepts

It is important to know about standard of living because you

can find out if a country is developed or developing by finding

if their rates of wealth, health, and education is high, medium or

low. You can also find the differences between countries by

comparing their wealth, health and education rates. This will show

the differences because you can find out which country as a greater

wealth or a lower education rate.

The ideas about economics and standard of living can be analyzed

using the five themes of geography by finding what country your country

has common characteristics with using region. Region helps shows the

common characteristics in an area. Using location you can find out the

amount of natural resources a country may have. Location helps analyze

the ideas about economics and standard of living because you need

resources to live, you can sell them and increase your wealth which

people can make things out of these resources such as books and

pencils to also increase their education.

5 themes of geography.

Analyzing the world with the five themes of geography help people better understand connections between people and the earth. One way is by knowing where things are and how to use the world to adapt and live for an example in the Namib Desert people can use surroundings such as  using trees to build shelter. Another way is how people in different places move ideas, goods and each other.

To me the most difficult to understand is region because I always mix it up with place and it confuses me because it is human/physical characteristics and area. Place is human/physical characteristics.

How I Feel About Basic Map Skills

I find cardinal directions the easiest because there are few things to remember and I already knew them. Also I think the continents and oceans easy because I already knew a few of them from previous years. I think coordinates are hard because you have to figure out where places are located on a map and the numbers just mess me up also I do not understand how to figure out the location when there are no numbers there. Basic map skills are important  because it helps us learn more about our world. Basic map skills help you understand geography because it shows you an overview of the world.
